BCHAR is a Swiss biochar technology company on a mission to make biochar carbon removal accessible, transparent, and scalable. We are building the infrastructure to take biochar from individual projects toward a global carbon removal solution at gigatonne scale, creating lasting value for the climate, businesses, and communities.

BCHAR’s founders met at ETH Zurich, where our engineering work earned innovation awards at the SpaceX Hyperloop and Not-a-Boring competitions. We later turned that engineering mindset toward carbon removal, developing our first pyrolysis reactor before moving into real-world deployment in Thailand.

That field experience gave us first-hand insight into what industrial biochar technology needs to deliver: reliability, automation, and ease of operation. It still shapes how we design and build today.

We test in the real world, learn from data, and turn those insights into practical solutions.
